Grateful

Life gives us our family and friends. It is up to us to cultivate and nurture those relationships. I have been blessed with both a great family and friends. Today I want to focus on the friendships and people we meet throughout our career, as there are many avenues that we create for our different tribes of friends.

ExxonMobil (EM) has been a source of many friends around the world. We have accompanied each other for 20+ years. It doesn’t matter how many years have gone by or if communication has been sporadic, the care, camaraderie and support for each other is still there. This week I was able to meet with some of them in Guayaquil, a city which I have not traveled to in many years, since I moved to the US. I was lucky to see a few of them that live in that city and coincided with some of the ones from Quito, as there was an event with their new company there. I was beyond myself to meet them again!!

Catching up even for a short moment filled me with joy and happiness. They brought so many memories all at once. People and Places help us build who we become. In my case, the influence that my friends, EM and Guayaquil had in my early professional life and to date have been foundational. I am super grateful for the experiences, care, and long-life friendships. For me that is what life's about: looking forward to more reconnections

Do you take time to reconnect with your friends and the places that have shaped who you are today? What is the call and/or visit that you have been postponing for a long time?

Take action and reach out!
