Toastmasters

The weekend is over!

I had a great time meeting new people, learning, celebrating, enjoying and reflecting.

For 2023, I celebrate being the Toastmaster District 56 – Division L Champion. Zach Newton, will be representing District 56 at the World Championship. As I reflect, all this was not about winning… It was more about the experience to continue building myself and my voice as a speaker. This made me remember Simon Sinek’s comparison of playing a Finite or an Infinite game. Winning for the sake of winning can be a finite game because once you are there, that is the end of the road… The infinite game is one where winning can be a stop or not as you will continue to progress on the ultimate journey. In my case, it is becoming an skillful speaker to serve my purpose: to help people become more self-aware so that they can become the best version of themselves personally and professionally.

The preparation and going through the different levels of competition has been the best. The support I had from my Club and friends has been amazing. And the best gift was people from the audience that approached me and shared that my speech helped and inspired them. It makes me happy that my effort and voice is helping me and others on their personal journey; which tells me I am in alignment with my purpose and mission.

What if we can regularly finish the week with that feeling of fulfillment and with a confirmation of being on purpose and mission? How will your life be then?
