What is true freedom?

I am grateful to have attended the Abraham Hicks session this weekend, as I got a deeper understanding of true freedom. It was powerful to share this space with family and friends. Here are some of the thoughts shared:

· Be in a place to let go control

· Have no need to explain myself

· Nobody needs to perform for me to live the way that I want

· Feel love and appreciation regardless of what others are doing

· Accept myself and others as they are

· Use the present moment to get in concert with the things that I want

· Be in the present moment knowing what is knowing what I want

· Be satisfied with “what is” today and be eager for more

· Be optimistic that things will get better

Simple ideas that may sound obvious and we can logically understand; however, our years of programming prevent many of us living our life in these terms.

The experiences and people that surround us generate a reaction. When it is positive, they show us alignment to what we want and when negative, they trigger us. They show us what we want to change or learn ourselves… For many years I focused my efforts personally and professionally on changing my external environment and/or explaining what things needed to be different… This approach resulted in magnifying the undesired state… simply because we get what we focus our attention on. This for many of us is counterintuitive, as our problem-solving education tells us that we need to actively correct the situation by discussing and working on fixing it.

Now, uncomfortable situations and people that generate a negative emotion have become an opportunity to ask myself when do I cause that feeling to others. As we are mirrors of each other to help our own evolution. It is not personal or against me… it is the experience I need to upgrade myself.

I have shifted to an empowered solution-oriented approach that starts with me shifting my thoughts and desires to express what I truly want. For example: if I want timeliness… I ensure that my words and thoughts are reflecting that “I will be on time” a shift from “I don’t want to be late.”

That is one of the sources where true freedom comes from… Change and my well-being start and end with my choices, decisions and the clarity to declare what I really want…

Have you noticed how are you expressing your needs and desires…? Are they in alignment or contra-position of what you truly want?
