Break Ins Make Us Grow
💫 We are Souls having a Human Experience… Divorce, Death, Illness, Accident, Layoffs, Falling in Love, the Birth of a Child, Winning the Lottery, Success of a Project, and many others…. are all ⚡️ break in events that will make us stop ⛔️ and our life will not be the same. 🌾 The way we process and manage situations, people and events sets us up for an empowered or dis-empowered experience. My usual self, will go in silence and alone through a hard event. 🤐 Experience has shown me that reaching out and sharing makes the load lighter and together things may look a little brighter. But most importantly, what moves me to share is the opportunity to provide a perspective, as other people may be experiencing the same.
🦋🦋 🌪 Today, I will share a recent event that once more will be testing me; and for sure will give me many lessons that will result in personal growth. I will focus 🎯 my sharing on what happened, what this evoked on me and what is my decision to navigate this situation.
October 29, has become one of those days in my life where everything changed. ⚡️ My company announced layoffs… unfortunately a more common event these days all over the world. It is not until we are personally impacted that becomes real and takes it into a whole new meaning. 💭 I have to admit that many ideas are going through my head, what would I do if I am out of a job, what is next, how will the company be after this big change, and many more… My colleagues and I, leaving or staying in the company, will face many challenges and certainly we will all be affected. Now, we have a choice…. ❓ Are we going to react like “the cancer patient that thinks the world is ending or the one that will focus to get well and have a second opportunity to have an even better life?”
💪 I am choosing the 2nd one! …. I trust, we will get through this. This is the 3rd time I have been confronted with the uncertainty of what will happen to my job. 🌬Now, I know that at the end everything will find its course and will be for the better. 🔑The key is to manage myself on an empowered way through this process the following weeks and months, where there will be more questions and unknowns. 🔆 So I will focus on what is 100% on my control by consciously acknowledging where I am, understanding the facts, and deciding to purposely manage my emotional state to care for my mental and physical well-being. Critical for having clarity to decide and act.🔆
⏳It is time for me to continue building my resilience muscle. My life experience is driven 80% by my psychology and 20% the mechanics. With this in mind, today I decide to 😊 1) proactively manage my emotions by continuing to engage in activities that bring me happiness, keeps me focused and encourage my mental and physical well-being: daily 30 minutes of feeding my mind with empowering thoughts, meditation, journaling in the morning, ballroom dance lessons, cooking and eating healthy foods. This will help me perform at my best at life and work despite to the current conditions. 👥👥2) I will surround myself with people with a more factual and optimistic outlook to gain perspective and support keeping myself clear and grounded. Having a support group to navigate this time will be a key for a good outcome. 📖3) At every step, I will reflect and record the lessons from this event. ✍️ 4) Prepare a plan A and B for staying or starting a new job.🌟
💫 If I am a soul having a human experience and I think of it like attending school…. Layoffs will not be a subject I will voluntarily pick. However, it undoubtedly will give valuable lessons that will help me to grow and become stronger. I have faith that at the end of all this… We will all be on the path to live that life we are meant to live.🌈 🌾Share below, what did you do to care for your mental and physical state the last time you experienced a break in event? The power of creating a community supporting each other is invaluable. Together Everyone Achieves More!🦋🦋
