Managing Change

Are You Ready to Master Change to Build an Exciting Compelling Future?

There are three key focus areas to enable transformation when managing change personally and in business:

Mindset + Identity + Skills & Tools

Change continuously challenges us to embrace transformation at a personal and professional level. Business more than ever requires us to focus on unleashing our best traits and skills personally and those of our teams.

Many companies often tend to heavily focus on processes and structural changes, neglecting the impact of building a culture shift to help leaders and their teams navigate and effectively embrace the required change.

The human element is the defining factor to drive the transformation required by change. At its core, Business is the Reflection of its People.

Let’s look at the three key focus areas (MIST) into more detail:

Mindset – are our established beliefs and attitudes that affect the way we think about everything. It has been shown that leaders are often the bottle neck to manage change. Mindsets show us the unconscious programing that run our life. Then understanding this programming is critical. Results are dependent 80% on the leaders and team’s Mindset and 20% on the Mechanics applied.

Identity – is the fact of being who or what a person or business is. During a change our known identity is often put to test. Understanding what this identity entails is critical to the success of change. Humans will do everything to be true to the identity that we have defined for ourselves.

Many of us often have defined our identity based on external expectations. During change, life gives us the opportunity to truly tap to moments of truth with ourselves to clearly articulate What do we want to achieve and Why is that important for us. Experience shows that if not exposed to new approaches and ways of thinking we will default to our familiar ways, as we will be challenged by the tyranny of our known How(s).

Skills & Tools – are the mechanics to navigate change. There are various ways to acquire the skills and tools to manage change. These are probably the “simpler” (compared to the other two) to overcome as they can be performed by a third party and we have more control over their expected results.

Going through change can be overwhelming and confusing, especially when we are in the middle of it, as we undoubtedly will be required to depart from our known ways. Having an external impartial coach/consultant to support you on this change journey can quickly help you moving through the transition curve towards execution.
