Memories: Clues to Our Journey

Memories are a great way to show us how our journey has brought us to where we are today. They are the stepping stone to building our future…

Facebook shared a post from two years ago where I was in Canada delivering group coaching and training to a wonderful team of high caliber people:  The 1st Guyana Operations & Maintenance Technicians for my company.

I had the pleasure and honor to be on the team that prepared them technically and personally to the career and life style they embarked on.  A new world for them!  I am thankful for the opportunity to create and deliver a program (“My Personal Journey”) to help them be assimilated into the corporate world, as well as to manage the multiple life transitions they faced.  These transitions included  becoming students at a university, moving to a different country in the middle of the winter, adjusting to a new culture and food, being away from family and loved ones, quickly become a team of 24 that will spend the next 18 months training.

With this team, I reconfirmed the power of coaching and mentoring.  I saw the personal and professional transformation in each one.  I am proud of them and what we achieved as a team.  Currently they are back in Guyana rotating off-shore to support the new Oil & Gas operation.  They are making a difference for their country, families and communities.

Thank you to the managers that trusted me with this program and the Guyana Technicians for the openness, willingness and tenacity to build their technical and personal life skills.

This experience that is so close to my heart, encourages me to continue with my Coaching journey!
