When the worst turns into the best….
Have you found yourself fixed on a course of action and all of a sudden life takes you into an unexpected turn that seems like the worst thing that could have happened? … However, time shows it was necessary to create that reality you deserve.
Mirko and Pamela, dearest friends and dance instructors, won last week’s USA National Professional Rising Star Ballroom Dancing Championship. A milestone that evidences their tenacity, focus, passion, dedication to build a new life in the USA. We’ve known each other for 3 years, since they arrived from Italy. It has been an honor and pleasure to witness their story. It was through many challenges: from starting a life in a new country with limited English, finding their way in a foreign land, building relationships with an open heart, staying true to who they are and their dream that they arrived to this well-deserved result.
They strive being the best version of themselves while bringing people along. They are masterful at building a growth community to elevate themselves and all around them. I have experienced their ability to connect and build a balanced exchange of giving and receiving to establish what today is a powerful Ballroom Dancing community that extends to Texas & California.
COVID brought us together. This "limiting" world-wide event started my journey and created my Ballroom Dancing family. I still remember our first dinner and sharing my lack of interest in engaging in this “super structured” dance. Little I knew the amazing world that saying yes to trying it opened up for me. A world that builds confidence, self-discovery, appreciation, communication and expression. For a year we met every Friday through Sunday without exception. Ballroom was the unifying theme, however as a group we learned from each other and enjoyed being together. A wonderful, deep friendship arose from this.
Then, one year ago unexpected events made Mirko and Pamela depart from Texas to California. It was a hard moment for them and the Ballroom Dancing family, as we needed to be apart. There were tense moments that united us even more. Undoubtedly, Mirko and Pamela’s tenacity, focus and passion showed up again. They quickly continued to build and extend the Ballroom Dancing family in California. As well as, they found that support and mentorship that propelled them into a higher excellence of their dance and instruction... Then, what seemed to be a hard and unexpected turn in their life, became the needed step to up-level their skills and accelerate their results.
Thank you Mirko and Pamela for being a great example of leadership, unity, passion, focus and connection with self and the community. You inspire and help me to continue shaping a better version of myself.
What is that event or person that either in the past or today seems to be the worst and has potential to become the perfect opportunity to become the best?
